Attention, Members of the Waterloo Regional Labour Council!

We are excited to announce the call for our annual Health and Safety Activist Award nominations! This award recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals in worker representative roles who have gone above and beyond in promoting health and safety in the workplace.

Who Can Be Nominated?
We invite nominations for any bargaining unit member in a worker representative role, such as:

  • Health and Safety Representative
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Member
  • Steward
  • Unit Chair
  • Local Union Executive Board Member
  • President

Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for this award, the nominee must:

  • Demonstrate exceptional unpaid volunteer efforts in their representative role.
  • Contribute to the elimination of workplace hazards and the protection of workers’ health and safety.
  • Not be a salaried employee of the WHSC.

Why Nominate?
This is an excellent opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our fellow members who have made significant strides in creating safer work environments for all.

How to Nominate:
To submit a nomination, please complete the Health and Safety Award Application Form [link to form or details on how to obtain it] and return it to [contact information or submission details] by Friday, November 1st. The award will be presented at the Health and Safety Dinner on November 20th.
